Holistic Pain Management

If you're someone who deals with chronic pain every day, and you have tried traditional avenues to no avail, then holistic pain management might be the right choice for you.

Holistic approach concentrates on the whole person– mind, body, and spirit – to help them manage their health. In the last 40 years, many people have been turning away from chemical medicines or invasive treatments toward plant-based, holistic wellness practice.

One of the more innovative ways that comprehensive pain management can help is by teaching you how to help yourself.

I am  a certified holistic pain management Practitioner.

I am  a certified holistic pain management Practitioner.

I specializes in helping people who suffer from Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis and Inflammatory osteoarthritis.

I customize each plan to meet your needs, not relying on what's worked for someone else or based on traditional methods. Treatment is based on patient goals, the type of pain, and improving quality of life.

How Holistic Pain Management Works

How Holistic Pain Management Works

Chronic pain is linked to many mental health disorders, including anxiety, and depression. A body in chronic pain sends constant stress signals to the brain, altering the perception of the pain and consistently perceiving a high level of threat.

Many people who suffer from debilitating disorders like fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and inflammatory osteoarthritis often turn to pain medication. Unfortunately, pain medication comes with its own set of risks, including addiction and side effects.

Yoga

This ancient practice has a wide range of benefits. Studies have shown that yoga can help with insomnia, depression, and also for managing pain.

Both yoga and chronic pain can alter your brain structure, but yoga has the opposite effect on your mind as chronic pain. Yoga helps lessen your reaction to pain by invigorating and building the grey matter in your brain.

Additionally, socially productive environments and physical exercise like yoga can also calm the exacerbated pain receptors and relieve some chronic pain.

Yoga can also alter how you perceive your pain. Yoga, as well as meditation, allows you to accept those things which you cannot change. In doing so, you decrease your tension and stress levels, which can lower the pain you're feeling.

Since Westerners have so enthusiastically adopted yoga practice in the last few decades, there is a yoga class for everyone in almost every town and city. Older adults, pregnant people, and those unused to exercise can perform this simple, yet powerful, healing practice.

Meditation

Mindfulness and meditation are excellent tools for finding a balance in your life, and these practices can help with chronic pain management. Mental processes can alter your perception of pain.

Meditation won't cure your pain, but it can help alleviate it by stimulating parts of the brain that process pain. It can also decrease your stress levels, which reduces inflammation, which can then lead to less acute pain.

Reiki

This Japanese practice is known as energy healing, which targets energy healing around the body.

One of the most ancient and versatile practices, Reiki practitioners put their hands on their patients' bodies, encouraging both emotional and physical healing.

During a Reiki session, the patient lies on a table in a peaceful environment. The practitioner holds their hands above the area that needs attention or, if there's no specific afflicted area, holds their hands above certain spots.

The healing energy of the practitioner's hands is believed to transfer to the patient's body, helping with the healing process.

Reiki has been shown to improve stress levels and mental clarity and help modify the body's response to acute, chronic pain.

Indian Head Massage

Ayurvedic medicine is one of the oldest forms of holistic healing. Practiced in India for thousands of years, it is based on the belief that well-being comes from the ever-changing balance between mind, body, and spirit.

The masseuse does not just massage the head, but also the shoulders, neck, face, and scalp. They also palpitate the pressure points on the face, helping to relieve pressure there as well.

On the simplest level, head massage helps the mind relax, which releases all the stresses and worries that it was holding. Practitioners note that this type of massage can help improve mental energy, which, in turn, enhances the body's other systems.

Some of the systems that are affected by Indian head massage are the immune, nervous, respiratory, circulatory, and digestive systems.
